Senior's and housing; who is helpling them?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else out there cares about seniors who are unable to afford basic housing services once they are unable to live in their homes? I have a board and care facility and I’m faced with taking in seniors and their adult children who are unable to afford the full price of a board and care facility. I get so many calls from referral agencies asking if I’d take a senior on social security only which pays like $1.050.00. Most board and care need to collect at least $2,000.00 plus to stay in business. If we take all seniors who can only afford to pay with their social security; then we'd end up having to go out of business because the expenses are too great.

If there's anyone out there who knows of a California senior housing help program, please pass the word. A lot of board and care facilities are shutting down because they are getting the quality paying residents that some other places are getting. There also an over saturation of board and care facilities in the San Fernando Valley area and so lot's of beds are staying empty because there's so many to choose from and most senior's are unable to afford what board and care facilities are asking for.
